’ami jiti’,--ei garva-sunya ha-uka inhara cita
isvara-svabhava,--karena sabakara hita
SYNONYMS
ami jiti—let me become victorious; ei—this; garva—pride; sunya—devoid of; ha-uka—let be; inhara cita—this person’s mind; isvara-svabhava—the characteristic of the Supreme Personality of Godhead; karena—He does; sabakara—of everyone; hita—benefit "Being very proud of my learning, I am thinking, ’Let me become victorious.’ Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu, however, is trying to purify me by nullifying this false pride, for a characteristic of the Supreme Personality of Godhead is that He acts for everyone’s welfare.
