eta bali’ namaskari’ kaila ganga-snana

eka kaupina, nahi dvitiya paridhana

SYNONYMS

eta bali’-saying this; namaskari’-offering obeisances; kaila—did; ganga-snana—bathing in the Ganges; eka kaupina—only one piece of underwear; nahi—there was not; dvitiya—second; paridhana—garment.

After reciting this mantra, Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu offered obeisances and took His bath in the Ganges.

At that time He had on only one piece of underwear, for there was no second garment.
