lobha ha-ila yavanera mudra dekhiya
ratre ganga-para kaila daduka katiya
SYNONYMS
lobha ha-ila—there was attraction for the money; yavanera—of the meat-eater; mudra dekhiya—seeing the golden coins; ratre—at night; ganga-para kaila—he got him across the Ganges; daduka—shackles; katiya—breaking.
When the meat-eater saw the coins, he was attracted to them.
He then agreed, and that night he cut Sanatana’s shackles and let him cross the Ganges.
